A women’s retreat for those ready to walk the edge - of the land, and of what’s possible within themselves.
This is not like any retreat you’ve ever seen.
She Who Walks the Edge is a walking pilgrimage woven with wild land, sacred rhythm, and soul-deep clarity.
An 8-day journey along Northern Ireland’s untamed Antrim coast.
Here, cliffs rise to meet your courage, the wind strips away what no longer belongs, and the roar of the sea calls something ancient back to life.
This isn’t a passive escape. It’s a reclamation.
With each step, you move closer to your own center.
Into strength. Wildness. Vision.
Into the truth your body has never forgotten.
She Who Walks the Edge is a homecoming
for your aliveness
your courage
and the untamed spirit that’s always been there,
just waiting for the path to rise and meet it.
With each step, something awakens. Something remembers. Something begins again.
Emotional Clarity and Release
Let the cliffs and coastline strip away what’s heavy. This retreat offers space for release, clarity, and the kind of emotional truth that only comes when the wind is in your hair and no one is asking for anything.
Depth Over Distraction
With the noise turned down, your inner voice can rise. Journaling, solitude, and silent walking become doorways into real knowing, not the kind you figure out, but the kind that surfaces when you’re finally still enough to hear it.
Aliveness Without Apology
Feel what it’s like to be fully in your body, in your joy, in your wild emotion; and know that it’s not too much. That you’re not too much. That this, in fact, is the point.
Realignment and Focus
The raw beauty of this land doesn’t just clear your head, it rearranges it. Old loops quiet down. New insights surface. Your attention sharpens, and the mind finally begins to breathe.
Stress Dissolves in Salt Air
Stress doesn’t get “managed” here. It gets carried off by the sea. Through embodied walking, silence, and sensory immersion, you return to balance without forcing anything.
Creative Renewal
With your feet on the path and your mind uncluttered, creativity returns in unexpected ways. Ideas. Images. Decisions. Dreams. Clarity flows not because you hunted it down, but because you made space for it to find you.
Vitality Through Movement
This isn’t a race or a competition, this is presence in motion. Daily walks along diverse and stunning terrain awaken your body’s strength, stamina, and delight in being alive.
Strength With Purpose
Challenge doesn’t have to mean struggle. As you navigate hills, cliffs, and shifting weather, you’ll build physical resilience, and trust in what your body can carry, literally and metaphorically.
Grounded in Your Senses
From the feel of your boots on rock to the rhythm of your breath, you’ll experience what it means to truly inhabit your body again.
The Land as Teacher
This retreat doesn’t take place in nature. It takes place with nature. The cliffs, the sea, the wind, they all become part of the teaching, offering quiet (and sometimes fierce) lessons of their own.
Walking as Ritual
Every step is an invitation to listen, to remember, and to awaken.
These trails get you to the next location, and also deeper into your own connection with Spirit.
A Sacred Kind of Solitude
You’ll walk part of this journey alone, held by the land and by your own breath. And in that space, you may encounter something unshakably true.
Circle Without Masks
This is sisterhood that quickly moves past the smalltalk. Six women. One shared journey. Real conversations. Deep presence. The kind of connection that holds, reflects, and honors your truth.
Power in Shared Silence and Story
You don’t have to perform here. Some days you’ll walk quietly beside someone. Other times, you’ll speak what’s been held for years. All of it belongs.
Strength in Witnessing Each Other Rise
In this space, we don’t fix each other, we walk alongside one another. And that, it turns out, is where the real strength lives.
Make your way to Belfast, Northern Ireland. We will meet up in the late afternoon and
then enjoy our first dinner all together.
Together as a group, make our way to the starting point of our walk.
We will have an introduction meeting to go over the itinerary and maps, and answer any questions.
We will have the evening for relaxation and social time.
We will start our walk the next morning.
At least 8 Miles / ↑800ft
This is the first of two solo walking days - a chance to walk at your own pace, in quiet connection with the land and yourself. And please note this will be one of our days with higher elevation gain.
We begin at the dramatic ruins of Dunseverick Castle, then follow the coastal path past Portbraddan and along the sweeping sands of White Park Bay. The trail leads us over sea cliffs to the tucked-away charm of Ballintoy Harbour, where basalt stacks rise from the sea. We end with a thrilling walk across the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, suspended high above the waves and unforgettable in every sense.
At least 9 miles / ↑1050ft
Please note today's hike will be our most strenuous.
This breathtaking cliff-top walk takes you along the sensational Causeway coastline.
Take some time to visit the Giant’s Causeway – a UNESCO world heritage site.
Follow a path alongside the historic narrow gauge heritage railway, connecting the Giant’s Causeway and the charming town of Bushmills, famous for the oldest whiskey distillery in the world.
Free Day to Walk or Rest
Bushmills offers a blend of natural beauty and historical attractions. Head back to Giant's Causeway or Dunluce Castle, tour the Old Bushmills Distillery, or just take the day to rest.
At least 9.5 Miles / ↑230ft
A lengthy walk but without much elevation today. Enjoy a closer look at Dunluce and then follow the coastal path around the town of Portrush. Continue past beautiful golf courses next to the sea until you reach Portstewart.
Free Day to explore prepare to leave.
Enjoy a restful day in your room or on the beach. You may want to Explore the Portstewart Strand, or the Portstewart Promenade. Or maybe visit the Flowerfield Arts Centre.
Slainte!
It's time to say our goodbyes and head back to Belfast or wherever your personal adventure takes you.
*This itinerary is subject to minor changes and the dates and locations of our free days may shift.
On this retreat, you’ll be held in sacred sisterhood, but you’ll also have the rare chance to walk parts of the path alone.
This solo time is about reconnection.
We’ve intentionally designed two of the walking days to offer solo time on the trail. You’ll still have support, direction, and check-ins, but during these stretches, you’ll be invited to move at your own pace, in silence, with just the sound of your footsteps and the rhythm of the sea.
Solo walking is where many women tell us they:
It’s simple. It’s sacred. And it’s something most of us rarely allow ourselves.
Here, you get to claim that space. Safely. Bravely. Fully.

These hikes are labeled 'gentle' but participants should have a moderate fitness level. We will be walking 8-12 miles daily over varied terrain and an ascent of up to 950 meters on one of those days. If you regularly enjoy moderate level walks or hikes, you’ll be well-prepared. If you're not quite there, you have time to train!
A few items include trekking poles, comfortable waterproof boots, weather-appropriate clothing, a reusable water bottle, and a daypack. A detailed packing list will be provided after registration.
There will be attempts to accommodate your dietary restrictions but this is not guaranteed. We will be staying in small villages and often the BnBs do not have access to the variety of food choices you may need. Gluten free is commonly accommodated.
Booking Fees for the payment plan option are non-refundable. Cancellations, after the balance has been paid, made up to 90 days before the retreat will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be made for cancellations within 90 days of the retreat start date. Our full cancellation policy can be read at the bottom of this page.
Yes, travel insurance WITH a medical clause is mandatory for all participants. This will ensure coverage for any unforeseen circumstances or emergencies. Highly consider adding "cancellation for any reason" to your policy.
Please consider arriving at least a day or 2 before the retreat starts so that you have time to recover from jet lag before hiking. You may want extra time to explore Belfast or even to go down into the Republic of Ireland.
Participants will stay in cozy, shared lodgings (2 per room) in the beautiful countryside BnBs. Single accommodations may be available for an additional fee; please inquire upon registration.
Bus transfer to our first walking point in Ballintoy is included. You will be responsible of getting yourself to Belfast for the start of the retreat. Please note that airport transfers are not included.
We will follow a specific and detailed route during our walks. You will be encouraged to spend much of the time walking on your own to get the full benefit of self-reflection. There will be designated free time after our arrival in each village to explore, relax, or enjoy personal reflection. You are welcome to venture out on your own during these periods or rest as you like. We will come together after dinner each night to reflect on the day.
You will have an entire personal day in Bushmills and again in Portstewart.
You will likely be taking an overnight flight into Belfast. I strongly recommend AT LEAST 1 day to recover from jet-lag before the start of the retreat but would suggest 2. Please consider arriving in the Ireland or Northern Ireland on June 6th or earlier. Belfast is a beautiful city! You may want to take time to explore. If you would like suggestions from Spiral Path Journeys on what to see and do in Belfast, please let us know!
I lead women into wild and beautiful places to help them remember who they are, not just who the world has told them to be.
For me, walking has never just been about the path beneath my feet. It’s a way back: to strength, to truth, to the voice that is able to get quiet in all the noise. It’s how I’ve moved through heartbreak, reclaimed joy, and found my way forward when I didn’t know what came next.
I created this retreat for women like you; women who feel the pull of something more. Women ready to walk the edge of the world and feel something ancient and alive stir within them again.
An inspiring experience connecting within, with the landscape, and each other. The retreat came at just the right time. Beautifully led, I am so happy to have made the journey. ~Emily W, MI
I love Jennifer. I find her warm, inviting, and humorous. I feel seen when I'm with Jennifer. She really listens and her attention is focused on me when I talk. ~ Lorry G, NM
I've loved each retreat I've gone on with Spiral Path Journeys and am excited about having yet another opportunity. ~ Jackie S, AK
The location was incredible, and the experience I had really reminded me that there is no coincidence, and this retreat was divinely and perfectly orchestrated. ~ Emily V, NM
